Goldfish eye problem? - Ides of March - 20-07-2019

Good evening all,

After checking my goldfish. One of them has some sort of bulge on her eye? I’ve tried to Google what it might be but I’m not so sure? I’ve attached an image of the concern.

Thanks.

There’s some problems with the attachment at the moment. If you use the imgur button under the emoji box that should work for pictures.

It’s the right eye - not noticed it before. Any ideas?

Have you moved the fish to the new tank yet? He could have got a slight injury during the move.

It doesn’t look cloudy, but ‘popeye’ doesn’t always present with cloudiness.

For now monitor very closely for any changes. Keep the water scrupulously clean. Also have a bottle of a general med such as Melafix on standby so you can treat quickly if it gets worse.

If it’s an injury it should heal just fine in clean water and time. Are you able to get a pic from the side at all?

Hello - yes the fish were moved into the new tank over the weekend.

In addition, I will purchase some Melafix just in case.

I was unable to get another picture from the side. The eye is still currently the same so will monitor for now.

Thanks for your help.
