I am very tempted after wathcing a few aquascape videos to do away with the trim top and bottom and just have a bare glass tank, as long as its sat on a piece of carpet/foam or something to distribute the weight across the new top it should be ok shouldnt it? I've never done it myself but a few of the DIY sump videos I watched said leave it a week. Yeah i read HA6 silicone website and it says leave it 24 hours upto 48 hours to fully cure so hopefully that will be good, ill at least lift it up and put it on the stand, I have just got rid of the old swoll...

I have also managed to save the top trim peice, cleaned the miters up and superglued them back together and added the right angle plastic pieces all held together with tape, should work a treat :D I turned the trim round so the pipe holes are at the old front which is scratched so this will be the b...

OMG ive done it... I couldnt breathe with my head in the tank kept gagging and nearly being sick with the fumes... I ran a bead along the removed piece of glass, then one along the bottom of the tank at the front, put the piece of glass in place pushed it in and down and taped it, I had already ran ...

No i havent, when ive re bonded the glass and sealed the tank, i will put the top trim back on with silicone as it was, then make a centre brace from 3" wide plastic 16" long to span the tank and bond it at each end like it was originally

I honestly dont think im going to get this top trim off all in one go, but it looks like its 4 peices joined at the corners, can i just take the front and back trim off and re join them again? I plan o wrapping it in a darker colour wood effect anyway because it doesent match anything in my house? h...
