Re: CO2 FE change

Solenoid has now decided it doesn't want to close and was still bubbling slowly this morning... the plastic bit did fall off briefly in my struggles though...
Will try taking it apart later

CO2 FE change

Well I almost posted this after working it out... After what must be about a year, my co2 bottle finally has started to lose pressure.. I managed to pick up another co2 FE for £5 (!!) which is full but just out if date. After disconnecting and reconnecting the new extinguisher, I don't seem to be ab...

Limia vittata

...what a wonderful phrase! Picked up 5 of these lovely fish today for £15, they seem to be getting on OK with Mt remaining 2 x. Pygmaeus, albeit a little confusion over interspecies relationships... Already jiggling and seem to be happy so far! https://i.postimg.cc/qvn6M4MC/20230120-163338.jpg Also...

Re: Who wants to be a millionaire?

As someone with a mix of sand, gravel and tropica soil balls... this would greatly interest me! Im thinking some kind of panning technique... But the time cost vs cost of buying new substrate is probably not worth it! I've managed to scoop out in layers before and just try to keep things separates a...

Re: Return to stairway

Surprising the difference a few changes can make, I think it's looking really good and I can't see a great deal of algae either :) Thanks! Yeah it's mainly hairy stuff on the rocks and a bit on some wood, or caught in the plants. (In addition to the standard algae on glass). It also seems to collec...

Return to stairway

Hi all, Thought I'd start a new log as it's been a while... and I have to confess, I once again let my tank maintenance routine slacken until the past month or so. As a result, BBA once again took over along with various other forms of algae all in one - not quite to the same extent as before. I'm n...

Re: Car insurance renewal!

If you're using comparethemarket (or anyone really) there was some test that showed getting quotes 14 days before renewal and just going for the best deal you find then is cheapest. Any earlier and it's more expensive, later and they bump the prices up basically punishing people leaving it to the la...
