RE: White worm cultures, my very own venture

If you like to culture a live food daphnia is even easier. You can just put some in bucket with alea green water in the garden and during the summer months theres thousands. I have a few buckets always. The larger the container the better you could add an airstone and feed occasionaly to produce mo...

Lily's TL : 30L betta cube

So I've ordered the api gh and kh test kit should arrive tomorrow, I think I'll dump the filtered water in the wc tank for now till I've work out what the filter does. Would plants in the wc tank reduce Nitrates? because I guess that's really what I need to do for any fish I get, out the tap it's ab...

RE: Lily's TL : 30L betta cube

I'm hoping to soften the water a little mainly for Neptune as I've heard bettas are better off in soft water. According to my supplier I've 118 mg / litre as calcium 295mg / litre as calcium carbonate 20.65 Clarke 20.65 German 29.5 French Maybe it'd be worth me buying the API hardness test kit? (I'v...

RE: Lily's TL : 30L betta cube
What does the Brita filter use to filter? If it's chemical you need to be careful. Moss doesn't soften water in my experience, not until it becomes peat anyway. ;) Wood can lower ph slightly, don't think it softens though.
It say...

A few more tweaks!

On Taptalk scrolling down to later posts sometimes gets stuck and wont go further, taping the double down arrow to go right to the bottom or flipping screen orientation seems to fix it.

Suelo's First, there was one...tank log

Looking really good, such cute fish and I really like your tank layout with the layered rock background, though the Atlantis one is nice too :)

Lily's TL : 30L betta cube

Yays, I'd been fishless cycling a couple of sponge filters just in a bucket for almost two weeks and it's already eating 2ppm ammonia in 24hours :D So I've now put one in Neptune's temporary home and the other in his 30L soon home. I drilled some holes in the back of a cupboard below so the air filt...

So whatcha doin fishy tomorrow?

Well... water changes for me too tomorrow, gonna start Neptune's first fasting day, figured Saturday's a good one for that as I'm often at my BF's, though he's been away snowboarding so he won't be back until the evening.
