They’re not normally aggressive if the group and the tank are both big enough. Somethings’s not right. Coming out for a day after a water change suggests a water issue. What are the pH and nitrates? How much flow/aeration is there? Ph 7.6 Amm 0 Nitrate about 80ppm but its always high, it comes out ...

Hi Had school of 15 tiger barbs in 1200 tank, doing great for about 5 months then…after a while 4 deaths from fighting, fins torns,upper jaw missing so now down to 10 and then….they are all hiding round back of tank, heavily planted tank, and hardly see thme now even when feeding, saw another today...

On annother note i change 30/40% water every week ankl after last water change they were back to swimming about as normal again for one day only ??

Simply just while they get used to each other and then spawn, then the male will guard everything (even if the eggs aren't in the nest or fertile) against everything including the female. That's why you have to watch and get her out when they've finished...... Oh ok thanks man, I wonder why she loo...
