Re: Red cherry shrimp tank advice

Well my little tank is in the living room and I have stupidly sensitive hearing but the filter really is silent! I have to visibly check the surface is rippling when I turn it back on as there’s no other way of making sure it’s working! I love my Anubias and moss - shrimps love moss and I have two m...

Re: My non-aquatic tanks!

Very impressive set-ups, they’ve got to be the luckiest hamsters I’ve ever seen, normally they’re just in little wire cages with a bowl & a wheel Tbh some of the German ones are simply palatial!! It makes me sad and even quite angry to see the tiny colourful ‘prisons’ marketed for hamsters in t...

My non-aquatic tanks!

I thought I should post some pics of my other tanks! :D Especially as Thistle, my dwarf hamster, is now my avatar xx My hamsters have tanks - I have a pair of 4ft tanks and one 90cm Exo Terra tank. (Yes I know I mixed my metric and imperial there! ;) ) I’m a big fan of Germanic naturalistic s...

Re: Ruth’s Jewel 350ltr

Yeah - it’s 70cm, will have two levels - it’s a good wee home for her! Thanks for the concern tho - I never mind someone with my animals well-being first and my feelings second!! Thanks x I’m afraid we’ll have to agree to disagree - it’s not big enough - 80cm is bare minimum width-wise. I have dwar...

Re: Is this brand of Ammonia suitable?

Almost slowly filled my planted 40gallon tank and as I repaired it, I am checking for leaks. . Following Hanlou's suggestion I will occasionally add drops of ammonia during the cycle. The last cycle on my 15 gallon took 7 - 8 weeks! Hopefully this one will be ready for Santa. Really hope this one g...

Re: Red cherry shrimp tank advice

If you did want a sponge filter without the noise - the Aquael Pat Mini filter is great and absolutely silent! I have a modified one (see YouTube videos for more info!) with two sponges attached instead of using an airpump - I stole the idea from YouTube and it’s working beautifully xx ;) You can ke...
