Hmmm i do have a group of pandas but i'd discounted them as theyve been there for a year and pics of their eggs usually have loads together. Could be. Ive put the leaf in a floating tupperware and will see. One is opaque and one is clear.

Breathing bag
Just took delivery of this beauty from ebay. Arrived well insulated but in a bag completely full of water with pretty much no air in. Was worried initially but instructions that came with it said it was a breathing bag, designed to allow oxygen and co2 to continually diffuse into the water. Not seen...

Re: EasyLife Easy Carbo
To add my voice to others - using easylife easy carbo alongside easylife profito. Don't have amazing plant growth like with actual CO2 but able to get moderately difficult plants and those with pinker leaves to grow.

Re: New Hobbyist
Yeah the liquid tests are a lot better than the strips. Just make sure for the nitrate one you properly thrash it about (both reagent and when mixed)

Re: New Hobbyist
Hi and welcome Not familiar with those fish myself but many here will be! Regarding how to cycle your tank, both ways work. As long as you measure your ammonia nitrite and nitrate until youre happy youve established the bacteria, you should be good. I did it the old fashioned way and had no problems...

Re: Newcomer to Hobby and need advice?
As youre keen on keep species that do better in softer water (shrimp and killifish), exploring RO water is not unreasonable. Disclaimer - i have kept killifish in hard water though their eggs were all failures. For my killifish i use a mix of RO and tap water which isnt too difficult to work out. Yo...

Re: BBA - help please
Sorry to revive an old thread, just wanted to check something about spot dosing with peroxide. As long as apply it using the pipette away from the fish, as the reaction with water is instantaneous, is there no limit to how much i can apply to the tank during a water change?

Re: munchers
Bearing this in mind, it takes a good half hour for me to clean my fluval 307. I dose a little seachem stability when I do this - is it necessary?

Re: New tank, upgrading external filter
I'm using a 307 in a 200L. Easy set up and maintenance. If the cost is acceptable to you getting a bigger filter than necessary (407) sets you in good stead for future upgrades
