I use hose pipe to do water changes on my kitchen tank and food grade 16/22mm pipe on my big tank.

I've never noticed a difference.

I've got a flipper cleaner and I love it. Very well designed, the main body is raised off the glass when using the scraper side so you don't trap any sand under it.

Only time my hand gets wet is to take it out of the tank.

Cheers @BigBen lobster eggs and bloodworm tonight.

One of them had a split dorsal fin when I got it. Its healed up nicely now.

It might just be a bacterial bloom and will sort itself out.
