thanks guys,,great help..on another note,last sunday the wife put 6 shrimp in our other tank,(water is perfect),,well we haven't seen any of them since,the tank has mollie's,swords,gouramis,cory's,male and female fighter,neons and 2 small rams,do you think they have been eaten or just brilliant at hiding lol.

Could be hiding but also with the fish you have in there they could have been eaten. Gouramis, Rams and Bettas will eat them.

However, how big is this tank as that stocking list is quite a lot of fish and you shouldn't mix Gouramis and Bettas but more importantly you shouldn't mix male and female bettas ever unless breeding (Or if they are the "wild" types.

my tank is 160 ltrs,,all peaceful in there,no fighting,(yet),may have to remove the fighters when my other tank has gone through its cycle.

Either. Diatoms tend to disappear as suddenly as they appear.
If at first you don't succeed....
...get someone else to do it! Big Grin

I’d wait til the end. The tank I’m currently cycling looks a right mess but I’ll wait for the big end of cycle water change to sort it out.
