Cheers for that. Just got to wait for another two days of zero readings on ammonia and nitrite.

Just done a few tests. I'm using NT Labs test kit. My PH was around 8 that has dropped somewhere around 7. My GH has gone up from 195 to 267
Most worrying is KH. Was 124 originally. Test says add 1 drop to turn mix to pale blue then add drops until it turns yellow. It never turned blue. Did it again and same result again. What is going on with my KH? If i keep adding drops it turns yellow straight away and not pale blue. My tank has cycled now i believe just waiting on 3 days of zero reading. Haven't performed any water changes yet.

Your KH will have likely dropped during the cycling process as the bacteria use up carbonates while reproducing and munching away.
Have you tested your tap water fora comparison? (Assuming your using conditioned tap water for your tank)
 😇 Heaven doesn’t want me...
And Hell is afraid I’ll take over! 😈

Added my first fish today. 4 Wild Colombian Guppies. These fish are much hardier and smaller than your normal guppies. Infact they are smaller than Endlers i believe They are tiny but cute. Cherry shrimp arriving tomorrow Purchased from ebay.
If buying off ebay contact the seller first. Ask him if he would kindly throw in a couple extra for the same price. You never know! I asked for 2 he said he would give me 4. Result.
Tried to take pictures but impossible on a cheap mobile phone. So no pics i'm sorry.

4 Assassin snails added yesterday. Tank looking excellent.. No problems at all. Stopped dosing Easylife Carbo. Very worried about the shrimp if i continued. Be interesting how the plants will cope as they were looking nice. Will still do my weekly fertz, again Easylife

My 125 tank on the other hand looks ugly. Hair algae and diatoms and i'm not even cycling it yet. White fungus all over driftwood. Only 10 days old.

What's happening is normal......especially if you've just left it with water...... Wink
If at first you don't succeed....
...get someone else to do it! Big Grin

Enjoy your fish, shrimps and snails!
