Tinkers tank - filter mayday !!!
#51
I feel for you, c.t - I had a similar(ish) experience with a Fluval canister. Turned out that we'd put the main seal in the wrong place : the diagram in the manual was ambiguous, to say the least. But that's by-the-bye ...

I'm having difficulty envisioning what's going on.  Eheim filters are so well-engineered that a unit still leaking after all relevant seals have been renewed is pretty much unbelievable. I wish I was nearer to Leeds so that I could get 'hands on'!

Where exactly is it leaking from? Refer to the diagram(s) in the manual so that we're singing from the same hymn sheet, as it were?

Apologies if this is not making sense - bit worse for wear at the mo.

all i know is it leaks from the head. the internal part that should be dry, i still think its the primer button aa when i pour the water out it comes out of the primer button too so clearly not water tight.
the seal seems toooo loose i feel... i have bought the correct one but it feels baggy...

so ehiem got in touch, sending the head unit to them, and i bought a ehiem pro 4 350 because, well i had the 3 years ago and it just worked.

tank is now being cycled.

plants in the tank, looking at co2 knew this would happen, 5 years ago i should have kept all my equipment.

also learnt not to do tank work with long sleeves
