Sorry for your loss Ric Sad
I got rid of most of my moss, it came off the coconut cave and it just got everywhere made things messy and blocked the syphon every time i did a water change.

Thanks Jen1981, Annie, Gingerlove. It was such a surprise to find the dead fish. Just thought one of them could have been hiding in a cave or amongst the plants.

Right now I think I might follow your suggestion, Gingerlove: get rid of the moss as and when it grows back. There is a clump towards the right hand side of the tank, which is ok now but will soon get to the point of falling apart. I think I will then get rid of it and perhaps replace it with a moss ball - taken apart and tied to wood. That doesn't grow so fast and wild and the shrimp still love it.

That's a shame Sad
Moss shouldn't be a problem, my tanks are full of it.
Rotting wood is not good, have you tested for toxins?
If at first you don't succeed....

Enjoy your fish, shrimps and snails!

I've simply binned the wood and did a big water change. Which toxin would you suggest to test for? Or do you mean just ammonia testing?
