Decision made, I think.

I've watched the male actively stalk & chase an Oto through the plants - that's not just scaring it away.
I called upon my teenage daughter's moral compass, as mine's not quite as reliable as hers.

She reckons set the 18l up and get them out of the Fluval ASAP.
At the same time I'll stick them on Gumtree and take the first offer on a quick collection basis.
If they're still in there after the weekend, then give them to my LFS (who reckon they can't sell on customer's stock as they can't rely on their provenance), who house waifs & strays in the tank they sell their plants out of.

where are you based?

I'm in Bournemouth, fr499y. Fancy a day trip to the seaside?

So the 18l's set up with tank water & it looks like it's up to temperature.
I'll wait until tonight's feeding and hoik them across to The Cooler for their short stretch in solitary.

lol! Shame that! I do pop down that way every now and again as i have relatives down there.

Surprise them this weekend!
The weather's due to be great and I'll even chuck in the keys to our beach hut for the day (Desperate? Moi?).

lmfao! if only. Put them in the free section of the classifieds Smile

I stuck them on Gumtree this afternoon and someone responded within minutes.
I've managed to catch the male and he's cowering in the corner of D Wing.
Mrs.K's a bit more wily and has disappeared into the Hygro.
It may take a nice, tasty algae wafer to lure her out...

Yeah they have (although he's looking a bit pale at the mo'), but I should have stuck with my original plan
(Pearl Gouramis/Harlequins/Otos/Panda Corys/Amanos).
I was lured by the Kribs in the LFS and the feeble sickly Neons were my youngest's choice.

Typical. Having turned away a few more enquiries last night, the buyer messaged me this morning to say he thinks he might have ick in his tank, so shouldn't take The Terrors. Bah.

Managed to lure Mrs.K into my net this morning. The male had been bleached out since his incarceration - immediately coloured right up once his missus joined him. I reckon he thought she'd evicted him, changed the locks and was filing for divorce.
