Couldn't find it on the Metro online version but there is an article on the Mirror's site:

So awful, people that can hurt animals or fish scare me the most, if you can deliberately hurt an animal then what could you do to a human being

Just noticed the pic of the plec, which looks more like a common plec to me.

Glad to see the RSPCA has actually taken on the case and taken him to court.

It's a stunted common by the looks.......should be in a very large tank to grow properly, so she needs a good slap as well......  Angry

What was the verdict ? Is it normal that a suspect is shown in media this way.

I don't believe the story for a bit.

It’s quite normal for British media to identify someone charged/accused of a crime before there is a court case.

Awful if you’re innocent.

Owwww wow. Unbelievable to us Dutch.
Media get prosecuted themselves if so here. Someone is "innocent" till proven otherwise and convicted.

Same in the German press - you see "X.Y." being charged and any pics blurred or with a black bar across the eyes. Here, the freedom of the press, while in principle understandable, sometimes could do with some pruning. But that is a discussion for a different thread...
