We have one as I can't easily reach the bottom of the glass and especially not at the back! Blush Before my husband realised he needed to be careful he'd put some mighty scratches in the tank near the base but luckily they don't show when it's filled. I've never had a problem as know to be careful. Handy but there are other options, I don't use one for my little tank for example.

Surprised it killed your fish though? What were they to be that sensitive?
Small tank - 60L - 4 Iriatherina werneri, 2 Celestichthys erythromicron, 1 small Melanotaenia herbertaxelrodi
Big tank - ~500L - 1 Mastacembelus erythrotaenia, 18 rainbows (Melanotaenia herbertaxelrodi, Melanotaenia trifasciata, Melanotaenia boesemani)

What make did you use? No name given then DD says ? is a notorious one  Huh
Thanks given by:
I think the movement in the water spooked the fish and it darted into the side of the tank, one of my red cribs Cry

I cant remember the make, it got binned in a fit of anger.

I was quite large as I got it for my 4 foot.

I will stick to filter floss and elbow grease.
