Wingnut55's Juwel Rio 450 LED
Well I have started my RO water production for this weeks water change, a few days late again, but couldn't be helped, as was waiting on three new 25l buckets to arrive, so I could do all in one go, as only one of the three buckets I was using had the litre markings on.

RO part done, now to top each bucket up with Nitrate filtered water through my Nitrate removal filter, a long process, but I enjoy it, and so do my fish having softer water.  Smile

Water change all done today, another 67.5l of the finest RO and Nitrate free water into the tank, hoping to have another 1dGH drop when I test in a day or two, that has been the normal hardness reduction each week so far with my RO and tap water mix of 12 parts RO and 10.5 parts Nitrate filtered tap water.

So glad I am getting the FX6 for Christmas, as one of my APS filters is really slowing down flow wise now, so wish I had gone with more expensive filters in the first place, but we live and learn don't we.

On a better note, Sean from HunnyHill Aquatics here on the Island has just phoned me to let me know my Bolivian Rams will be ready for collection on the 22nd December, he has hand picked me one nice male and four lovely females from his suppliers for me. Good of him I must say.

I’ve really enjoyed reading through this his post, yes all 107 pages !
It’s been a great source of information, especially for rookies like us, once our tank arrives we now have a better idea and plan about preparing it.
Thank you

He is indeed Ian, the kind of service you expect from a family run business, he goes that extra mile.  Wink

All 107 pages, that must have taken ages. But thank you for your feedback, and glad it's giving you some good info for your own setup.

This Forum is a great place and there are a lot of very knowledgeable people on here, who are only too willing to give help and advice.

Happy fishkeeping.  Smile

Well just done my hardness test, 9dGH this week, a total drop so far of 6dGH, so by my reckoning I should reach my target of 7dGH in the next two weeks or so, and I will have completely changed the volume in the tank at the same time. Looking good, and the inhabitants I am sure are feeling and looking much happier, and more colourful.  Smile
