Yes - sorry PJN. It was taking ages to upload so I went and did something else!


I forgot to mention that I'd put a few bladder snails in there, on the grounds that their poo encourages infusoria (which the worms ingest). However I've just been watching a couple of snails rampaging over a worm-pile, probably trying to get to the food that's the focus of the pile, and am having second thoughts. I think I'll probably take them out again.

I've set myself the task of resetting my Dero tank today and am recording my ambition here to reduce the likelihood that I'll chicken out!

Last time I did this I gathered them all into a shallow glass bowl, which I then immersed in the tank. This was to improve feeding efficiency. However bits of food do disperse around the tank and adventurous worms do wander around in search of them, so it's time to get them all back in the dish (or a slightly bigger one, maybe).

I did my back in a few days ago, so bending over the operating table [see above] will be quite a challenge I think!
