I've read anecdotal stuff about optiwhite (and similar brands of low iron glass) being easier to scratch and there's either a hardness or a scratch scale to be found on manufacturers sites that sort of suggest that may be the case. You just need to be carefull using an algae scraper and don't go near the substrate and use something like an old bank card to scrape the bottom couple of inches of glass.

It does look good though with the benefit increasing with glass width.

Really enjoyed reading this thread, the photos and vid are great to see !
Will be setting up our new tank soon and live plants are a must for us, so this has been very helpful to read thanks.

I've got the light mounted to some degree, but I'm not happy with the way its done. Will have to tackle it when i get back from work tonight *Sigh* More pics will be posted though so thats something to look forward to right? Big Grin
