Lighting! What do you use and why?
#1
As the title says, What do you use and why? Will be interesting to see what lights people are using and what the growth of plants looks like. Please do reply with the make/model if you know them both Smile

Mine are all tubes t5/t8. Mostly because i’ve never looked at upgrading them Big Grin
The plants in my 180l seem to have more of a growth spurt than in my 100l, as there lights are brighter. But my 100l the crypts seems to stay quite constant but they have grown to some good sizes over the time they have been in there.
 😇 Heaven doesn’t want me...
And Hell is afraid I’ll take over! 😈

All my lights are LEDs now, I've replaced any that didn't come with the tank as the tubes have given up.
If at first you don't succeed....
...get someone else to do it! Big Grin

Enjoy your fish, shrimps and snails!

Mobiles are way too complicated for me, although I do have one now. Wink

In the 125litre I have the standard jewel 125 led. Personally i find them "adequate" and will upgrade them once I figure how to make a nice lid incorporating lights.

On the 200litre I have a fluval plant 2.0. Great powerful light but the touch sensor is annoying.... tbh it's overkill for a low tech planting setup I have in there.

In the smaller tanks I use a chihiros a light. Great little lights for the price and they come with dimmers so I have them on the lower setting but they are powerful. They are basically cheaper knock off twinstar lights but in my experience they are great. I have three of them!

2 x the longest Fluval fresh plant & go 2.0, slightly staggered so theres overlap in the middle of the tank. Never bothered with any fancy functions, set on full and controlled by a timer on each unit, never bothered with the wi-fi stuff.

Just the two LED's that came with the Juwel Rio 450, seem to be doing a descent job, plants are doing well anyway.

Had the top up for tonight's feed so took a couple of snaps with Fluval LED's on and off. Think you can guess which is which...
