Newbie just getting hooked
Yes they are and I still don’t feel overly comfortable having them sent through the post. Our 2 nearest Maidenhead Aquatics sometimes have shrimp in but the choice is very limited. If you have a World of Water near you that could be worth a try.

Can’t remember seeing anything other than Amano is pets at home.

My P@H have Amanos, Bamboo/Wood Shrimp and they also do the Giant African/Vampire Shrimp which is where I got mine.

My lovely Maidenhead do cherry and crystal red, and all manner of crabs and crayfish but I've not seen blue. Hertfordshire Aquatics do a ton of cherry also but not looked specifically there for blue.

Wow! You definitely have a much better selection locally! We quite like a road trip so when we get the chance we will go further afield for things. Hoping there will be a Shirley Aquatics trip soon!

Think we will only have amano at our LFS, the idea of having them posted is upsetting. It’s must be crazy all those fish etc travelling around the world in boxes, guess they gotta get to the shops somehow. That Pro-shrimp shop explain their procedure very well, still it’s too long for them to come to Spain.

I use pro shrimp for plants and they’ve been very good but as I’ve also seen how couriers throw parcels around I don’t want to get fish or shrimp that way.

I’ve had snails sent but they can tuck away in their shells and be safer to some extent. Also only when the weather is warm.

Thinking about it, I've just realised the late Hitchhiker Bob that P@H gave me for free was a Red Crystal... they cost a bomb and they just gave him away. Shows what they know!

Exactly!

I have to bite my tongue in shops or I’ll end up getting barred Smile

Well I've just finished reading all eleven pages of this post, I also have the Fluval 240, your tank looks great Benville, would be nice to see some fish in it.

Hey and thanks!

I started another thread for the 240, called Project Bertha 2 in the "What's happening in your aquarium" section, it has lots of fishies now Smile
