If you're using the original tubes, then the daylights are probably the best.
I used to have a daylight and different one at the back until I just used straightforward ones from the DIY shop.
I've since switched to LED replacements with red and green LEDs. (Superfish retroLED). Mine were T8s, not T5s.
If at first you don't succeed....
...get someone else to do it! Big Grin

Running a interpet twin 115cm led on the 4 foot now, low tech tank with easy plants so no need for high light. Remember, higher light will result in quicker growth and higher nutrient uptake. Lighting is just one thing to balance!
