Hi all,

Just had a bit of drama with a Bolivian Ram there, which was my own fault to be fair, was feeding my fish bug bites bottom feeder sticks (usually break them in half to spread them about between fish) as one usually nabs it and swims about with it like a cigar.

However I just had a Bolivian Ram get one stuck sideways in its mouth, thought it was just breaking it down until a couple minutes later it started to drift to the surface, not looking to clever. Had to net him and gently massage the food down till it broke down bit of a lucky escape.

Not sure but won't be getting that size/shape again. Having a to try and catch aan already distressed fish then massage food from it's mouth is some ordeal, and that's just for me never mind the fish.

I occasionally use the Fluval Bug Bites "Cichlid formula" as opposed to the bottom feeder formula.
The bottom feeder formula is designed for bottom feeders such as catfish, goldfish etc..

The cichilid formula is a much better size for the rams/keyholes. It's quite slow to sink though which is annoying.

I'd bought the bottom feeder sticks to give my BN Dave a bit more variety other than algae wafers & weekly courgette.
