Floating plants

Post by yorkiejeff »

Guys, and gals. Wanted to get some floating plants for the tropical tank and the goldfish tank.. Got some duck weed but all the fish are the lot within a day. Anything else I can put in that hopefully the fish will leave alone?

For tropical I like frogbit and salvinia. I assume goldies will just munch on those or the root anyway too.

Was thinking of frogbit. Wasn't sure if the goldies would munch on it. Maybe if I got bigger plants they might not. Having said that they are busy removing the plants from their tank lol.

You could try feeing the goldies more raw green veg, but they'll probably still eat the plants anyway........
It took me nearly three years to get rid of the duckweed in my q-tank after a couple of bits got in from a random source, the tank is too small for goldies. ;) :D

The goldies cleared all the baby duckweed, about 50 plants, in around three hours. They just cruised the surface hoovering it up.😊😊
