If the nitrates aren't too bad then you aren't overfeeding too much.
You need to sort the light and flow out by the sounds.

Might be worth reducing back to 6 until you get the algae under control. You can increase it back up after. 8 hours is the recommended maximum

Try reducing your feeding a little, fauna and flora. sometimes I found it took a little tinkering to get the balance right.
