looks like its all settled down and stabilised.

The Aqua One was removed and one of the 2 media sponges left in (the other was donated to Castle) so I'm now running on purely the air sponge filter (which incidentally has about at least 3 times the media surface of the aqua one if not the flow rate)

TBH looking at the two tiny pieces of sponge that came out of the aqua one in comparison to the mass of the sponge on the air powered filter makes complete sense why the cycle on Fireplace only really kicked in when I added the air sponge as a secondary, I reckon it's actually been the primary in there .

Yes the Aqua One would have been creating more flow but I'm pretty certain I know where all the munchers are ;o)

well there's no-one really in there to pick on him (except the Platys, the sole Mickey Mouse being the most likely culprit) its more a case of making usre he doesn't start picking on anyone
