so after about 24 hours of running it's certainly working well as a mechanical filter. Not able to comment on how efficient it would be as a biological filter but I suspect not well, there's only one piece of relatively small sponge/foam in there

So whilst the bogwood & plants are having a H2O2 bath a chance to see what's hiding behind them :)

That APS filter really does hide in the corner nicely and yes I know the sponge filter could do with a scrape and that there's a fair bit of detritus currently floating around from where everythings been disturbed :)

Nice layout Mike. I could barely see them with the wood and plants in, even then it was only cause I knew they were there :)

BTW What does the H202 bath do for the bogwood and plants?

Oh geez @mikeyw64 your fish look shell-shocked. Hopefully they'll settle after a few days. :)

One of the reasons I stopped any attempt at aquascaping (apart from not being very good at it ;)) is that I found the fish would all hang out around the plants and wood pieces but not make much use of the rest of the tank. By spreading out wood, rocks and plants it gives them a greater feeling of security, they always have somewhere to hide underneath or behind, which encourages them to use the tank more. See how they go, hope they'll get braver soon.
