Finally added my first shrimp, ten Crystal Reds, off Si4geckos. Started the tank a few weeks ago, with a used Aquael Leddy 60 tank

I took bits n bobs from my existing tanks, so it was cycled and clear in no time :D

I added 12 neon tetras and 6 ramshorn snails last week, then last night the shrimp [woo]

Great setup and nice size aquarium for shrimp. I see lots of people using very small tanks for shrimp but you won't get the big explosion of them. I have just brought a tank off ebay for shrimp and i'm delighted with it. BARGAIN.

Nice looking tank.

Hopefully any baby shrimp will be able to avoid the neons' hungry mouths. Perhaps add a clump of moss for any shrimplets to hide in?

Thanks everyone :D
Si gave me a big lump of java moss, its wrapped round the wood right in front centre of the tank. I'll be splitting it as it grows, and gluing to more places, is there any carpeting plants/moss that's best for shrimp?
You can't beat eBay for used aquarium stuff, mostly for listings close to you that are 'collection only' like tanks. I bought this complete Leddy 60 with cover/LED light, substrate, filter and stand, for £35.00, Just sold the stand for a net £21.00! [woo]

Lovely looking tank and wow what a bargain!

I find eBay to be very hit and miss... most people around here seem to have totally inflated expectations but every so often do get a real bargain.

Thanks again, I'm really happy with my 'little tank' addition, the shrimp are a pleasure to watch, this morning I've found a moulted shell hanging on a plant, and counted 8 out of the ten added on Wednesday night :D
The root is full of algae, and there's some small bits of fish food on the substrate, do I need to add shrimp food?
