Would getting lemon juice in the water be bad? - Or aquarium salt?, i'd read about vinegar too
Could you not scrape it off with a razor blade?

Yes, white vinegar would work as well.
I'm not sure how the lemon or vinegar would be reacted to by fish and turtles, probably not well, and it will alter the ph (make it more acidic).

I've tried a scraper Andy - it helps but doesn't completely go. It'll keep coming back too, like the inside of a kettle so I need try find something I can just scrub it away with as part of the water change. It wouldnt matter on a normal tank as the water level would be above the tank trim but with the water level of the turtle tank being lower you see it - and the air brick causing little splashes means you get patches up the back
