I think it helps that there are other fish in with them. sometimes they go on a little chase then get bored
I'm thinking of modding the filter slightly as i have a few sponges and would be good if i could run two at the same time on one pump. Time to get the 3d software out and have a play i think.

Bet that's amazing to watch the Betta doing lengths, I didn't think they were into active swimming much, will you be setting the cube up again for something else do you think?

Nah, these 2 will work nicely for now
The new Eheim heater turned up last night so in that went. Eheim Thermopreset, the same type as in the smaller tank ( Except 150w )
I had a play with a new light design but I'm not sure how its going to work, so back to the drawing board with that one.

I had a play over the weekend with the LED's but I don't actually like the way it looks, so I'm sticking with the T5 unit. Its a FHE T5 unit, so the tubes are a strange wattage ( 21w for a 3ft tube instead of you're usual 39w HO tubes ) which has the bonus of cooler running and lower power usage.
I'm currently using what should be 2x 10,000k with the blue tube turned off, but I'm ordering some new tubes, which in theory should be better suited for the plants.
Update when the tubes arrive ( and if they fit! If they don't, I'll fit them somewhere else! )
1x Philips TL5 HE 21W 827 (MASTER) ( Extra Warm White 2700K )
2x Philips TL5 HE 21W 865 (MASTER) ( Day White 6500k )
Hopefully the Extra Warm White will help bring out the colours in the fish and the red plants without being over powering.
