Thanks everyone. I haven’t told my boy yet as he was already having a difficult day. If he can have a meltdown over getting “how many 5s in 100” wrong then losing Ghost Will be a whole other level I need to prepare for.
He set himself the sum, by the way. Age 5. He figured it out after a while by knowing 5x10 is 50, 2x50=100 so 5x20.
But yeah.... I keep looking for him in the tank automatically.

Told my boy this morning. He was pretty adamant we were going to get another betta...first time I’ve been grateful to say the shops are all shut . Whilst I loved Ghost and Remus before him (2018), it’s just too hard when they die because they’re such characters.
After a bit, he decided it was all ok anyway because we still have Pumpkin. Good job nerite snails mostly look alike so that one can be an easy fix!
Started breaking down Ghost’s tank today. The Anubias went into the big tank and the otos have made short work of the diatoms. Think I need root tabs in there for the swords. And need to figure out my ferts routine as I’m getting tiny tufts of bba. Dosing Excel to try and get on top of it, even though I always said I wouldn’t. But I’m not going down the CO2 route so worth a go.

Video update
https://youtu.be/RHU_-VvVQbs
Had a big prune and tidy in the big tank. Added some root tabs as the swords are showing lots of signs of deficiencies. Spare greenery moved into the cory tank to fill it out further. It tends to get a lot of diatoms so I’m tending to transplant healthy stuff from the 240 and clear out the less healthy stuff from here (the lights aren’t the best for growth, other than hygrophilla for some reason!)

@plankton nope. It’s still in there! Growing ok, feeding well. But as soon as I try to get a net in or stand by the tank, off it scuttles! I sit on the sofa most nights wishing I could just reach through the glass because it’s right there!!!! I’ll maybe give it another proper go this week now it’s had a chance to forget the net of doom....
