Hi all, venturing back into the hobby after a number of years absent concentrating on dart frogs.
Back in now and setting up the above tank for discus, leaf fish, some shrimp, tetras and kuhli loach
Not sure how to post pics, used to use Photobucket but couldn't get it to work now. Anyone can give any tips much appreciated.
Had it about a month now and still a dry tank, I am currently covered in silicone and sellotape trying to get the wood right!!
Looking for the 3D effect to attach pieces coming out of the back and sides so does anyone have any tips for keeping the wood in place while the silicon dries cos this is driving me crackers

When you post there's a little blue bit above submit that lets you add an image to your post Don't worry my first time posting an image I used imgur because I didn't notice it either Looking forward to seeing your tank!

Saw your post in the welcome thread bigben and noted you kept discus.
Will probably be looking for wild type as I want to keep it as close to natural as possible.
Here is how it looks with no water currently (if this works)

Luckily a previous reptile/amphibian enthusiast so have loads of bogwood, vineroot etc lying around.
Looking at get rid of my 6' kitchen table so I can fit a big tank in its place as I don't have that many people round for Xmas anymore.
Would like to go for native coldwater marine or maybe a jack pike.

Watch the discus and/or the leaf fish don't decide to eat the shrimp (it will be a bit warm for them as well) and khulis.

I agree.
Discus like the water warm (around 28C).
Kuhli Loach prefer the temp below 26C (long-term)
most tetra also prefer the temp below 26C (long-term) as do shrimp.
Just a heads up

You need to be a bit prepared for 30c as well, should you have any health issues.
