Been there ;) Then ended up placing the wood in the tank anyway, weighed down with rocks. Fully intended to remove the rocks when the wood is ready but then got so used to the rocks being in the tank that I left them there :D

Well its now four months on and the piece of bogwood still refuses to sink, getting beyond a joke now, apart from that all is well with Wingnut55's tank.

How are we all doing these days, all good I hope.

Ian.

No air pockets mate, its a solid and very dense piece of wood, will take as long as it takes I suppose.

Is it worth drilling it from the underside though? Might get water into the heart

Worst case scenario you could refill the holes with plant weights :)

Hi Ian, it's strange for bogwood to keep floating - are you certain it is "bogwood"? ;)

Hi Ian,
You have me wondering now, its a heavy lump, I think I posted pics some time back, got it from my local MA here on the island. Could be another type of wood, but showing no sign of sinking that's for sure, removed it from the bath about 4 weeks ago and have got it in a large 25l bucket outside now, with a bucket of sand holding it down, lifted the bucket off the other day, and the bloody thing popped straight up, that's 4 months now. Grrr.

Ian.
