Re: Unalome's Rainbow Utopia
Yeah unfortunately I had to shut it down as this tank has gone into the same spot as the prior and the Wife said absolutely NOT to running two tanks

Re: Unalome's Rainbow Utopia
Hoping this is nothing to be concerned about but my water has gone a bit green...

Lights have been off on the tank as doing a dark start and there has been no direct sunlight hitting the tank either...
For full disclosure this is what has been added to the water and when (Only been performing Ammonia tests at this early stage);
Thursday 19th - Filled the tank
Thursday 19th - 6ml Seachem Prime added
Thursday 19th - 30ml Seachem Stability added (My guess is I probably shouldn't have added this? Once I noticed a green tinge I haven't continued with the recommended dosage of this)
Thursday 19th - 15ml Ammonia added - Ammonia Test = 2.0ppm
Saturday 21st - Ammonia Test = 2.0ppm
Monday 23rd - Ammonia Test = 1.0ppm

Re: Unalome's Rainbow Utopia
that could actually be tannins from the wood as they will stain the water a faint brown colour. It could also be the rocks leaching any left over dirt in them.

Or it could be the glass.....
I had a tank that I spent ages trying to control what I thought was an algal bloom, it turned out the glass had a faint green tinge, more noticeable when it was full of water....

If at first you don't succeed....

Re: Unalome's Rainbow Utopia
Thanks for your responses guys, it's not the glass as it wasn't like this when initially filled - It's more noticeable when the light is off but as long as it's nothing to be concerned about happy to just continue as is for the duration of the cycle and the big water change before adding fish should hopefully sort it all out.
Should I continue dosing Seachem Stability whilst cycling or just let the tank do its own thing?

Re: Unalome's Rainbow Utopia
Only use it to rid the tank of any chemicals or treatments you have used. Filter floss if anything.
