I've had my Super red for about 6-7 weeks now. He/She has settled in nicely. Pretty tame character, goes about his business, eating anything he sees, on the sand, glass, plants etc and of course the tomatoes that i put in for him. Generally moves slowly around the tank in search of food.
However, these last 3 nights, i've noticed him practicing for the Olympics. At around 20.00 ish, he is racing around the tank, from glass to plant continuously. Round and Round he goes. I've never seen him move so fast. Faster than the Guppies. I just wanted to know if you have noticed your species doing this from time to time or if mine is simply going mad.
thanks
J

They can get quite bonkers. One of mine is a complete nutter.
He's got the filter that was held on by magnets off the glass (and managed to get the magnets not to work any more) and sleeps behind that most of the day.
He then decides it's his tank and charges around getting the corys and guppies out of his way, sits on the front glass for about an hour, travelling from one end to the other, then charges back around the tank to behind the filter.
I wouldn't worry about yours, it sounds quite placid.....

Sarah quite often goes a bit mad, going all over the wood, up and down the glass, shifting stuff around (if it moves!) until she decides thats enough and goes back to hiding in her hole in the wood
To the tune of “the saints go marching in”:
Oh fluffy sheep! Oh fluffy sheep! Oh fluffy sheep are wonderful, they’re white Welsh and fluffy! Oh fluffy sheep are wonderful!

It's a bit difficult to snap him when he's moving a million miles an hour. I'll have to wait until he stops for a snack.

Wow! Beautiful fish... I had 3 Bns in my 4ft. 2 were as chilled as ice but one used to suddenly go nuts, charging around the tank, usually about 9.30ish pm. They are so comical
