I have seen some really, really pretty male Endlers. In fact, looking at their colouration & tails they must have some (a lot) of guppy in them, which I know isn't great, but I am only thinking of males, rather than a breeding colony. I am thinking of putting a group of them into the tank with my group of female platies (13dGH) but I have a few questions....
If I just have a group of males, are they going to constantly bicker and harass and try to mate with each other like my group of platy males do?
Will they constantly harass and try to mate with my platy females?
My daughter would really like a male guppy, would a male guppy & male endlers co-exist in the same tank, or would one harass the other?
Would Endlers live happily in my normal tapwater (6dGH & 7.4pH)? If so, I might consider a mixed group of pure Endlers, but not if any excess babies wouldn't be happy in our local tapwater.
Thanks all!

I think a lot of endlers have guppy genes mixed in (probably because of the colours and tails). Endlers do tend to be calmer than the platy males, being smaller they have the “saftey in numbers” instinct. They might try mating with the platies but i dont think it would be as boisterous. I also think they would be ok with the guppy, but i would keep an eye on them just incase, although with the guppy being a bit bigger they might think he’s boss.
Endlers again have a similar hardness preference to guppies so i wouldnt keep them below around 8dgh. The ph should be fine as long as its stable

You are at the really low end of hardness for endlers and guppies, so you'd need to make sure the water is changed a little more than usual to keep the carbonates up if you decide to go for them.
My guppies are at 7.9 dGH/ph 7.0 and have been for 19 years

Thanks both. So they would be good, hardness wise, if I kept them in my platy tank, which is at 13dgh. If I get some, I think I would just get males only. I don't want to have to rehome babies locally if our local water is going to be too soft for them.

You don't want females if you get endlers and guppies anyway.
