L066 Pleco tank mates

Post by Tycho »

I've got a small group of L066 pleco's and I was wondering if anyone could recommend any tank mates that might help bring them out of their shell a little, I've had them for just iver two months and I hardly ever see then.

I'm running the tank at around 29/30°, a bit of a current but not too bad although I might need to up it a little further down the line... so any suggest for what likes it hot, a bit of a flow and ideally not too bothered about plants although I can add some more in the one end.

Lemon tetras would work, same river system and like movement in the water.
Discus, Corydoras, Loracaridinae, Dwarf Cichlids.

Thanks Ben... wasn't sure if it would be a little hot for them.

Lemons can take it warm, as can emperors, rummies, cardinals and blackskirts.
Depends what contrast you want to the tigers.

The King Tiger Pleco (L066) a beautiful pleco.
Can I ask why you have your tank at 29/30°, isn't that a bit too warm?
Looking at Planet Catfish they recommend a tank water temperature of between 25-29°C.
I would be inclined to gradually reduce the temperature to 26°C and then go from there.

All the best
6 foot (550L) - Rio Ucayali themed
4 x Biotodoma Cupido, 55 x Paracheirodon innesi, 23 x Thayeria boehlkei, 30 x Gold Laser Cory (CW010), 2 x Flash pleco (L204) named George & Mildred

2 foot (120L) - Breeding tank (temporary stocked)
15 x Paracheirodon innesi, 9 x Three-lined Cory (Corydoras trilineatus)
