Vale! Minimus has thrown a spanner into my (admittedly quite vague) plans for my racking revamp by announcing that he wants fish!
After some debate, we may have settled on Bumblebee Gobies. I'm interested in making contact with anyone who's kept them. I believe @PJN was considering them at one point but I'm unclear whether or not he actually went through with it.
It should be OK so far as I can see, aside from the fact that I'd have to have another tank made - it would be very shallow, though, and that's my current concern. I might have (something like) Guppies or Mollies as tankmates but have zero experience with these. Would they cope with a shallow water-column? I'm assuming that Guppies would be perfectly happy in brackish water (I haven't looked it up yet)?
So ... has anyone here had hands-on experience?

Personally I wouldn't keep guppies in brackish water.
Black mollies will be much better, and are the smallest mollies, around 4"/5"......you'll need a lid.
If I remember, bumblebees are fussy feeders (live or frozen is best).

If at first you don't succeed....

Bumblebee Goby (Brachygobius doriae) although there are other species called bumblebee goby, are not exclusive to brackish water.
They do exist in brackish water but usually found in coastal rivers & streams. They may even thrive in brackish water but do inhabit both fresh & brackish water.
I personally would keep them in water that is slightly brackish and have a species only tank.
Here are a few links but I suspect you've already read these

Yes, I did consider, but didn't end up getting any. I figured that I'd need brackish water for them, and my options for other Mekong Brackish-Water fish were fairly slim - I believe there are some halfbeak species there, but I decided there just wasn't really enough fish to make it an interesting tank.

What about a chromide cichlid, beautiful, in the wild they inhabit fresh & brackish waters. Also read somewhere that the endlers do well in brackish but not sure on that one

Thank, S - yes I've done some reading now. I don't know what P's going on about! ;-)
Thanks, PJN.
And thanks, J - I'll certainly go and have a look at those, too.
