These two assassins have been in the same position for the past 4 days. Are assassins canibals, and is one eating the other? Or are they in love?

They may cannibalise if there isn't enough food, but that looks like Barry White's been on the radio for two days. ;)
They only usually produce one egg at a time.

Well, what have I added to the water to start this?
First the Corydoras start multiplying, and now the Assassins are having a go! I hope they suceed. BTW, I have 2 Nerites I want to find a good home for. They are living alone in the Kintergarten Tank ATM and I'd like them to be in company. I won't put them at harms way of the Assassins which live in the Community tank. No cost to whoever wants them of course as you will be doing me, ( and them) a favour.
PM or Email.

I'm getting a lot of it in my tank too, wonder if lengthening daylight hours triggers it?

Plankton. Should I move them into the Kindergarten Tank to safeguard the egg?

I know some fish respond to the difference in air pressure, as well as temp and probably daylight hours, which triggers them to spawn :)

I would just leave Mr & Mrs Smith to it, @Jon_D . There is nothing in your tank that would endanger the egg, for now, and any babies are quite clever. Usually I find dozens of them inside my filter at cleaning time :)

The egg would be hidden from everything except loaches.....
Haven't you got the nerites in the kindergarten anyway? ;)
