Snail habits

Ivan our Assassin snail has being a lazy devil for the  last three day    Got his head in the sand. 

They don’t  hibernate do they ?

Are there snails for him to eat? If not give him some food. But check he’s ok first. Lift him up and see if he’s got his head out. If not sniff him.

Would you actually get snails in for them to eat? What would they eat otherwise, pellets?

Theres plenty snails...
.@"Benville" I have another tank with a stock for him but he ain’t finished eating what’s in his tank yet
I understand they eat food debris too.
I’m going in with the long tongs and move him...see if there any movement ????

Moved him and he’s woken up, guess he was just being a lazy snail

You could get some in if you wanted to but they will eat leftovers too as Annie says.

Snails often "sleep" for 3 or 4 days when they've had a good meal or are having a growing spurt.

In our 125 we had quite fine gravel and the assassins would spend a fair bit of time buried in it. Whenever we put in a load of MTS from the 200 they seemed to be able to smell them and would rise up to get them.

Remember that bit in the Thriller video where the zombies come out of the ground?.......that
