If worms are involved you’ll need to treat them in the main tank. A few eggs/larvae come out with poop, which is how it passes to other fish.

No point really, treat them all where they are now, no point in stressing them while you net them as well.

So if I'm doing a water change should I focus on siphoning the top layer of sand out for a rinse while I'm at it?Sixo wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 13:45 pmWas going to treat both to be honest.black ghost wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 13:43 pm If worms are involved you’ll need to treat them in the main tank. I dont syphon the sand, i just hover the syphon over it moving it in small circles to help pick up any detritus on the bottom, you’ll end up picking up little bits of sand just doing that
I imagine most of the eggs etc would be fairly near the surface as opposed to buried.

Pretty sure my fish have flukes in the 5ft tank. It's been 3 weeks since I added the two new Clown Loach and moved the others from the 125l to the 5ft tank. So am surprised to see this appear.
I have ordered the esha gdex but it won't arrive until the 2nd April. I have esha 2000 and Melafix in the house. Should I start treating with either of these?

You'll be better boosting the immune systems with garlic than using the Esha which won't tackle flukes as far as I know.
The Melafix could stop secondary infections though.

Thanks plankton. I will add the garlic and start putting a small dose of Melafix in to ward off any possible additional infections

I understand exactly how you feel. As soon as I saw my Cory flicking on the sand today I remembered your thread and went straight to Amazon for the treatment. Of course with the way things are delivery is limited. Just hope it comes early.
