I have just been looking Esha 2000 up and it mentions gill parasites so wonder if it is worth a go. Thursday is a long time to wait till.

eSHa 2000

It seems flukes are Dactylogyrus which are monogenean trematodes parasites and Esha 2000 treats protozoan parasites. Are these completely different types of parasites? Oh very confusing trying to find simple answers.

These protozoan parasites apparently can cause flicking as well, so I might be wrong that it's flukes my fish are suffering from.

You feel a bit helpless watching them flicking, at least it's treatable though thankfully, back to full health soon hopefully.

Yes, I'm probably clutching at straws hoping the treatment I already have in the house would help them :(

Thanks plankton. Would you recommend half dosage with the Clown Loach?

Yes, they are scaleless so you don't want to "burn" their skin.

I’d follow the instructions unless you have any scaleless (loaches) or labyrinth fish (gourami, betta) in there. Then i would half dose to help prevent burns (scaleless) or damage to the labyrinth organ.
Also remember to take in to account your decor etc when dosing eg it might be a 200l tank less 20% for decor = ~160l water, so you would dose for 160l not 200l :)

There's definitely something at work in the tank, tested my water before a water change/medicating my parameters seem to be OK for ammonia/nitrate, but a few fish are breathing rapidly by look of it.
