Yeah so i see one rasbora woth white patch on head and another with tiny white bit on mouth, and a Phantom tetra going to surface gasping for air then back down again, columnaris maybe?SPACKlick wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 23:49 pm Ok, that tank isn't great for Espei Rasbora. They do prefer softer water and it's a little above their typical pH range which won't be helping. The going pale is usually a symptom of feeling stressed. Other than the colour change what behaviour changes did you notice?

It sounds like the oxygen content of the water is low - does the surface move from the filter flow?
It could be columnaris with the white patches. I can't remember what treats that besides a daily 20 minute bath in untreated tapwater (the chlorine kills the pathogen), but you can't do that if there's also chloromines in the tapwater.

Have the fish been stressed lately by noises or any smelly things brought in the house, or even fighting?

The SAE will be too big eventually (they need at least a 4' tank), but....I wonder if they came in with something that they're immune to but the espei aren't?
It may be worth a course of Esha 2000 together with Esha Exit to clear (most) possible problems.
