Looking at getting a couple of Bluefin Killifish for my tank, as they look stunning. Does anyone have any experience with them?
Other fish in my tank:
- whiptail plec
- 8x glowlight danios
- 6x Pygmy Corys
- 4x silver hatchets

Link not working as the "Product is no longer available".
Tried googling this and it came up with different species: one okay for community tanks, another required a species tank. Perhaps you can post another pic or link?

Ah you’re right, they’ve taken them down. They also listed them as community, whereas it seems they’re better as species only: https://www.fishkeeper.co.uk/help-and-a ... efin-notho
So, next question: are there any Killifish that are suitable for community aquariums, in harder water (15gdh)? Or, any similar fish that are bright and colourful - mostly looking at a pair and I’m not overly keen on Gouramis.

Hi, I have the same GDH as you at 15 it's very restricting, I recently purchased a few firemouth panchax they are supposed to be ok up to gdh12 but often fish listed like this on profiles do ok in my water, still it is a risk and too early to say if it's been successful, I like the tiger striping but they are nothing like as colourful as some of the other killifish, also be aware some killifish are annuals,

Have you looked at celestial pearl danio? They are nice and should be good in hard water,

I like bluefin nothos but for I think if you really want them you need to set up to breed as their life cycle is so short.
I've got a pair of lyretail killis which live for a couple of years longer, and their doing fine in my community tank. My water is around 12-14 GDH. I'm told they can be aggressive in a community tank but I've seen none of it and have similar size fish to your set up. Also he has a bit more of a personality than the other fish I have, comes to greet you when you look at the tank and swims around your hand
