Congo Tetras and Dwarf Gourami

I don't think 4/5 will be enough to diffuse the aggression in a tank that size. If you want to diffuse aggression, you need so many that everywhere they go they see another one. Look at Malawi Cichlids, those tanks are crammed full to stop this kind of problem.

How many did you have together?

I only had 2, but that was because I was told they were a morph of Honey Gourami when they weren't. Dispersing aggression only works when there's so many in sight that they don't know who to go for. 4 is definitely not enough for that. There's a reason why Malawi Cichlids are so heavily stocked.

I think it would work but I would personally increase the Congo’s as they’re much better in a larger shoal.

In an ideal world I’d have a hundred of them but five is plenty for my tank size. How many have you got?

I’ve got 8 at the moment. Would like a couple more but not found any large enough yet.
