Hi

I am sure most aquarists have heard fishy noises from their own tanks.

Some years ago I set up a tank as a native seashore tank. The main fish in it were blennies. They make a noise like glass cracking. Most dis concerning when heard for the first time, especially in a home made tank. ::eek::

The most common noise I've heard is Discus picking at sealant in an old tank. No wonder it leaked 😂

Pistol Shrimp or Alpheid Shrimp use to make a lovely cracking sound in my old reef aquarium. These small shrimp use their larger claw to make a snapping sound to stun their prey.

This video below is from 'Foo the Flowerhorn' on YouTube. Sparkling Gourami (Trichopsis pumila) croaking in his Walstad style 5 gallon aquarium. I believe he said he had put a microphone against the glass to record the sound and increase the volume in editing the video.

WARNING - DO NOT BREED, FEED OR PET THE PUDDLE! :dodgy2:
