Hi All,
I have never joined a fish keeping forum before, I thought that other peoples insight would be helpful with this project.
I have had many fish tanks before, I started with a 10 litre one that was garbage, too small and WAY to hard to keep control of, then i learnt about Nitrification process and started to learn more about fish keeping
I moved on to a Juwel 120L which i had my lovely goldfish in, then i bought myself a 350L Fish tank which i turned into a tropical tank, I had loads of exotic fish in it like Elephant Nose, Ghost Knife Fish, Reed Fish (Mr snake) Armored Cat Fish, and then 40-50 odd community fish.
I have now after moving house decided to get myself another fish tank, Its a wave front 400L tank 5ft by 17" by 24" high and it comes with the stand for the tank, but im TERRIFIED of it, becuase its 3 peices of chipboard and 2 legs holding nearly half a tonne up, which is why i have only filled the tank up half way, and i am considering draining it again as i dont have any fish yet anyway and bracing the stand.
Some advice would be greatly appreciated as if this tank collapses Im evicted and homeless hahahaha
Thanks all - Joe
Hi All, Just got myself a fish tank AGAIN! (Bancrupcy incoming)

Welcome to the forum.
If the stand is made specifically for the tank it will be ok.

It'll be fine! As Plankton says, If it's designed for that tank, then it will hold the weight absolutely fine. Looking at it, I'd say its actually better braced than some of the solid looking cabinets!

Hi and welcome Joe, that looks great and perfectly fine to me, a tank I just sold had bad water damage to the stand but it was solid and held it no problem filled and with over 50kilos of rock too, as they guys say its designed for it. Allways a worry when you get a bigger tank, Ive just made a concrete block stand for my 6ft tank and was worried myself for a few days about it holding up, but its absolute solid.
