Re: Ammonia level reading help!!
Ok @VikingMummy2015 Ive done a big water change the temperature was already at 28c it's just the water level wasn't higher than the thermometer.
The ammonia was 0.25 after water change I added 1.2ml of ammonia as per @SPACKlick reccomondation earlier in the post .
I cleaned out filters etc in the old water and popped them back in. Hopefully we can get this going again ..I'd like some fish for my birthday (25th Feb)
Illl check ammonia before I go to bed,
One more thing I feel I must have aggravated whatever was in the bottom of my substrate the tank is a little murky but I'm sure that will clear soon enough

Re: Ammonia level reading help!!
Day Later
Ammonia 0.25
Nitrite 2-5ppm
Added 1.2ml more ammonia
Obviously I'm happy the Nitrite is showing but any explanation from the sudden rise in Nitrite from the zero it was showing just a day ago ? Very strange

Re: Ammonia level reading help!!
The nitrite munchers are more resilient than the ammonia ones so should kick back in quite quickly.

Re: Ammonia level reading help!!
That's normal. Are your nitrites off the scale? Mine were stubborn for 10 days and barely moved at all. I added Seachem Stability and the cycle was done 2 days later.
