Hi i thought id ask this question in this section as it could help new guys too.

Im looking for a book thats helpful on fish keeping. 15+ years ago i had 'the bumper guide to tropical aquarium fishes' by Dick Mills
Unsure if this is now dated or worth repurchasing as i no longer have it.

Anyway the long and short of this post is are there any books you would recommend?

Thanks

I would recommend to every aquarist The Tropical Fishlopaedia by Mary Bailey and Peter Burgess. It says on the front “A Complete Guide To Fish Care”, and that’s exactly what it is. No pretty pictures, but everything you need to know about keeping fish.

Well my copy has just arrived and l am very pleased with it. I expect that this is the only publication a fish keeper would ever need, unless of course he/she wants to look at glossy pictures. Thanks for the recommendation. I think the best way to use this book is (at least in my opinion) to read through cover to cover armed with a highlighter pen, highlighting all the material l will want to refer back to. Then use it as a reference tool.
Best wishes as always,
