Hello all,
This morning I have noticed numerous white orbs/spheres in my aquarium? They’re scattered around the floor and also stuck to some plants.
I’ve attached a picture. I have 2 goldfish. What are they?
Thanks.

Unfertilized eggs at that.
You have any Corydoras in your aquarium?

No - just 2 goldfish. One is a very large Oranda and one is a medium sized fantail.
What can I do with them?

They are probably goldfish eggs, they look like that as well.
Have the goldies eaten them yet? They will probably fungus as they are unfertilized.

I've had a few of these in my Betta tank and there's bronze Cory in there as well as ramshorn snails. I thought they were snail eggs??Martinspuddle wrote: ↑Sun Apr 04, 2021 11:06 am Unfertilized eggs at that.

Thanks for you help guys.
Questions regarding the situation;
There are still some eggs within the tank. Should I remove all of them?
What caused the egg laying? Can a female lay eggs without a male present?
Why were the eggs unfertilised if there is a male and female within the tank.
I think I do have 1 male and 1 female but I’m beginning to question now.
Thanks.

hi
i would just remove them, might as well do a water change/maintenance as well
you may have a male and felmale, the male may not be mature enough to fertilise at the moment
as what caused the egg laying, may have been a nice meal, bottle of wine, some music dancing and see where it leads
Cheers

Yes, remove them, especially if they start to fungus-up.
Females will lay eggs without a male present rather than become egg-bound.
