As soon as I can remove the rock from the middle of the wood, I’ll get it covered in anubias and buce plants

I’ve changed the light brackets as some emersed plants kept getting burnt by the light. It’s taking a bit of getting used to but it works.
The algae had come back again so I’ve been spot dosing with h2o2 again which seems to be doing the job.
The only thing I’ve done differently is using API plant food, so I’m going to dosing any once I’ve used up the bottle.

I might put in some botanicals now that the flow on one side is a lot calmer. Hell, I might even be able to grow a lotus again

I love how you just grow stuff outside as well, makes it look more like a slice out of a riverbank/bed
To the tune of “the saints go marching in”:
Oh fluffy sheep! Oh fluffy sheep! Oh fluffy sheep are wonderful, they’re white Welsh and fluffy! Oh fluffy sheep are wonderful!

The perfect type of setup for a shallow tank
I've been wanting to get one setup like this since seeing Alastairs' tank back in 2012.
I'd love to have a 4ft x 3ft x 1ft setup in the same style but theres still a bit of persuasion needed before the wife allows it lol.

As I've said before, you just need to convince her that it was her idea all along.
Either that or warn the Mrs Fr499y that it will be a nice new motorcycle sidecar her to travel in if she doesn't agree ...that could tip the balance!
Someone grab a fresh beefsteak just in case she gives him a black eye.
